Catherine grew up in a horse family where her grandfather always had horses. She was sitting on his small pony, Penny, before she could walk and leading miniature horses around as a toddler. Her favorite thing about riding is the thrill which started when she went for her first β€œgallop” on Penny. Since then, she has had a few equine partners. Her latest mount (and best friend) is a large pony named Gizmo who she is training for the Hunter/Jumper ring.

Catherine came to Todd Hill in the fall of 2020 as a student and fell in love with how organised and well run the facility is. She feels strongly about teaching her students proper equitation from the start. As an instructor, Catherine wants to make sure her students understand the whys and hows of riding so they can someday be independent in schooling their horses. Horse care is incredibly important to Catherine. She takes pleasure in passing on the philosophy that the horses needs come before the riders progress.
