Emma started riding at the age of 13 and fell in love with every aspect of the sport.
In her first year of showing, Emma went from showing large ponies, to children hunters, to junior hunters all in one season! Even though she loves to compete, Emma has always focused on horsemanship and making sure her horses are happy and healthy!
Emma has taught riders of every level and age, and is especially proud of her work teaching for the Landmark East Riders Program in the Annapolis Valley. When she’s teaching she makes sure that the riders feel like they accomplished something in every lesson, and she loves when her riders her ask questions!
After riding, teaching, training, and competing across Canada, Emma moved to the DAL-AC campus and competed in the AIEL equitation circuit. Despite winning over 40 championships before she went to DAL in 2013, one of her proudest accomplishments was being honored with the MVP award, and helping her team secure the Reserve Championship.
Since then she has trained dozens of horses from short stirrup ponies to 4’ derbies. Emma currently has one horse of her own, “Ortega” who she has won numerous classes in the equitation divisions on, as well as championships in the 1.0m-1.10m jumpers.
